PAPERCUTZ

Biography

PAPERCUTZ is an electronic pop music act lead by Portugal-based composer Bruno Miguel featuring other guest musicians. Their debut album “Lylac” was released on Montreal's Apegenine Recordings. Showcased by BBC Introducing and MySpace’s Best Music, the album was featured in various publications with UK’s Record Collector magazine comparing Bruno’s precision work to that of Four Tet. The band spent the next two years touring and signed their conceptual remix album “Do outro lado do espelho (Lylac ambient reworks)” to UK's Audiobulb Records, featuring relevant ambient music artists like Taylor Deupree, Keith Kenniff, Simon Scott (former Slowdive member), and among many others that Bruno personally invited. Shedding skins from their debut bedroom electronica, Bruno was invited to remix emerging bands Abadabad, Courtship, Sun Glitters, Albert Swarm and Nite Jewel’ s Heart Shaped Rock project with the likes of Fader Magazine, XLR8R, Impose, Discosalt claiming their rich dreamy sound, and took the risky plunge of covering The Cure’s “Disintegration”, a soundtrack to many of us youth, only the find the warmest recognition on their spin of the original song, from across the globe. They have just released their sophomore album “The Blur Between Us”, out on UK's Sounds Of A Playground and Portugal's Rastilho Records, a result of their work in NY with with producer Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio) and their latest song collection presents a darker, edgier, and epic sounding soundscapes, a resulting clash from Bruno’s European rich music tradition and Chris New York indie background.
